Frequently Asked Questions
How should I store my bagels?
For best results, keep your bagels frozen until you’re ready to enjoy them.
We bake in small batches without preservatives, so freezing protects their texture and flavor naturally. Think of your freezer as a pause button that locks in freshness.
When you’re ready, move them straight from freezer to oven. No thawing needed.
What’s the best way to reheat bagels?
Freezer → Oven is the gold standard.
- Preheat your oven to 200 °C
- Place frozen bagel directly on the rack or tray
- Heat for about 10 minutes
- Check at 7 minutes depending on your oven
You’re looking for a warm center and a lightly crisped crust.
Can I thaw them first?
Yes, if you’re planning to toast them.
Alternate method:
1. Remove the number of bagels you’ll eat
2. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes
3. Place in a 200 °C preheated oven for ~5 minutes
4. Slice and toast if desired
This method is great when preparing breakfast for multiple people.
Why don’t you pre-slice the bagels?
We keep every bagel whole on purpose.
Pre-slicing creates more exposed surface area, which leads to:
- Moisture loss
- Faster staling
- A drier interior
Keeping them intact preserves the chewy crumb and fresh-baked texture you expect.
Why are the bagels sold frozen?
This is part of our craft philosophy.
We slow-ferment, hand-shape, boil, and bake each batch in small production windows. Freezing immediately after baking:
- Locks in peak freshness
- Eliminates the need for preservatives
- Reduces food waste
- Lets you enjoy them on your schedule
It’s the closest experience to having a fresh bakery bagel on demand.
Are your gluten-free bagels safe for people with celiac disease?
Our gluten-free bagels are not certified celiac-safe.
While we take additional precautions, they are made in a kitchen that regularly handles wheat and gluten.
Gluten-free bagels are produced:
• On a separate production day
• Using fully sanitized equipment

How do I slice a bagel safely?
After your bagel is thawed or baked:
Use a serrated bread knife.
- Place the bagel flat on the countertop
- Rest your non-cutting hand gently on top
- Slice horizontally, keeping the knife parallel to the counter
- Use a gentle sawing motion — don’t press straight down
This keeps the shape intact and reduces injury risk.
